A career break and a different business adventure made me face reality
I had time to analyse as an outsider the decline the veterinary industry has been suffering for a good number of years, with veterinarians trying to give pets and owners excellent service while dealing with an incredible amount of external factors making it nearly an impossible mission.
With large corporates taking over the industry we have seen regular increases in prices, less time for consultations, more pets and less vets. Also it's had an impact on independent practices.
With all things said and witnessing more unhappy clients than ever, I can see the need for a different approach to the veterinary relationship with pets and their families.
Also during my break from vetting, I was running a business and a household with two toddlers. I can categorically say that I experienced first hand how stressful it is when you have to fit an "extra activity" into a completely manic day.
